About SWMHRA:
The Southwest Metro Human Resources Association (SWMHRA) is located in the Minneapolis, MN area and serves HR professionals in Chaska, Chanhassen, Eden Prairie, Minnetonka, Shakopee, Waconia, Victoria and other adjacent areas. The group started as a way to network and share information among local companies regarding HR-related topics and events. Today there are over 85 employers and 150+ members who participate in SWMHRA, with 65% of membership at VP, Director, and Manager levels. Meetings are hosted voluntarily by member companies and take place at least once a month. Presentation topics include compensation updates, benefits strategies, recruitment techniques, legislative changes, community events and roundtable discussions.
SWMHRA Goals:
1. Provide quality educational programs through SWMHRA meetings 2. Offer camaraderie and networking opportunities 3. Help members with day-to-day HR issues 4. Allow access to SWMHRA resources (i.e. Website, Member Directory, Discussion Forums, Salary Survey, Events, and HR Links) 5. Promote the value and importance of the HR profession
How Do I Join?
It's easy! New members are welcome. You must (1) be a non-agency HR professional in a corporate role or a student working towards completion of an HR degree, (2) live/work in the southwest metro area of Minneapolis, and (3) be willing to host an occasional group meeting at your company. Please note that HR-for-profit vendors and/or consultants are not allowed to join SWMHRA. To join, please fill out our Membership Application. There is no cost to be a member of SWMHRA. We will inform you once your application has been accepted.
