Debra Weiss, Partner, Meagher & Geer, P.L.L.P
Social media launched “#MeToo” and started a conversation with over 8.7 million users. When sexual harassment happens in the workplace, HR professionals need to take action. Attend this session for: (1) a candid, interactive discussion about sexual harassment following the screening of a video with harassment content that is meant to generate discussion and reaction, (2) a brief overview of the current state of sexual harassment case law in Minnesota since the onset of the “#MeToo” movement and how it has changed, if at all; and (3) clear guidance on how employers can improve their employee harassment policies and update and improve their harassment training sessions.
Debra L. Weiss is a Partner with Meagher & Geer. For the past two decades, she has focused her practice in the area of employment litigation and counseling, where she regularly assists employers with all aspects of employment matters. She helps employers navigate through the complicated and often-technical myriad of state, federal, and local statutes and laws impacting employment decisions from the hiring process to performance evaluations, discipline, and separations, as well as litigation arising from all of those stages. She has consistently been selected for inclusion in the Minnesota Rising Stars list published by Minnesota Super Lawyers magazine.
